What Our Customers Say

Great Communication

I had an excellent experience With ID the leak. Tim came out, Assess the pool area, identified two leaks and then arranged them to be fixed. I could not be happier. It’s very unusual to find a company that is so Responsive and does exactly what they say they will do. I’ve had a negative experience in the past with the previous company that fixed a leak and did a poor job. I would highly suggest anyone that has a problem with the leak to give Tim a call

Leak inside the home

Highly recommend! I suspected I had a water leak but couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Tim came out to investigate and quickly identified the issue: a leaking toilet flapper that was allowing water to slowly escape. He was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable throughout the process. If you have unexplained water usage or suspect a hidden leak, call ID the Leak. They're sure to provide excellent service!

We called ID The Leak for an ongoing pool leak. They came out the next day at the time we agreed on. The technicians name was Tim, he was so knowledgeable and polite. He found the source of the leak and made sure that was the only one-even checking our pool equipment as a possible source. He explained the problem and had taken pictures to show us. I would definitely recommend this company.

Great price

Tim did an exceptional job! To start, he clearly communicated when he would arrive, was on time, friendly and happy to explain his whole process. As someone who wants to know exactly what is happening when service people are working on my possessions, Tim went above and beyond to make both my wife and I feel at ease that he wasn't trying to sell us some snake oil or find issues that didn't exist. Tim took his time and was extremely thorough through his whole process and answered all of our questions and provided pictures and videos of any issues that he found. Thank you Tim for your attention to detail, and for making this whole process painless! Tim at ID The Leak gets me and my wife's highest recommendation for a leak detection company!

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about slab, pool, and irrigation leak detection β€” and what to expect before, during, and after your inspection.

A slab leak is a pressurized water line that has failed beneath your home's concrete foundation. Common signs include warm spots on the floor, the sound of running water when fixtures are off, unexplained increases in your water bill, or cracks in walls or flooring. We use acoustic listening and thermal imaging to locate the source without demolition.

Normal evaporation and splash-out account for some water loss, but a loss of more than 1/4 inch per day β€” or needing to add water more than once a week β€” often indicates a leak. You can also run a simple bucket test at home: fill your pool to its normal level, place a bucket filled with pool water on a pool step so the water inside sits a few inches above the pool's surface, mark the water level inside the bucket and the pool's level outside it, turn off any auto-fill and water features, then wait 24 hours without using the pool. If the pool level has dropped noticeably more than the level inside the bucket, that difference points to a leak rather than evaporation. If your results suggest a leak, we use pressure testing, dye testing, and hydrophone listening β€” even performing a visual inspection by entering into the pool β€” to confirm whether your pool shell, plumbing, or fittings are the source.

Soggy patches, unusually green or fast-growing turf, pooling water near heads or valves, and a rising water bill are all common indicators. Because irrigation lines run underground, we trace them non-invasively across lawns and landscapes β€” no trenching required.

Yes. Our approach is built around protecting your property. We use thermal imaging, acoustic listening, and pressure testing to narrow down the source before any exploratory work is considered, minimizing disruption to your home, pool, deck, and landscape.

A typical inspection takes two to five hours, depending on several factors β€” including the property size, construction, and the type and complexity of the leak. We'll give you an honest estimate when you book.

We specialize in accurate detection and clear documentation. Once the source is identified, we provide a written report with photos and recommendations, and we can coordinate with trusted local plumbers and pool professionals to guide the repair.

In some cases, yes. Certain common leaks β€” typically found in the skimmer basket or around the return jets β€” can often be corrected on the spot to stop the leaking. Depending on the issue, these fixes can hold anywhere from a few weeks to several years. After we complete the pool examination, we'll walk you through the details of what we found and your options in much greater depth.

You get a written summary of our findings, supporting photos and video where applicable, and straightforward repair guidance. The documentation is yours to share with your plumber, insurance company, or a seller during a real estate transaction.

Yes. For new and pre-owned home purchases, we pressure-test and inspect water and sewer lines so you can uncover hidden issues before closing. We also offer dedicated pool testing for new homeowners to confirm the pool's structure, plumbing, and equipment are sound.
